Personal Update~
How are my readers
doing today? I hope your pain levels are low. I am sending a great big hug to
you all, and many prayers for each of your circumstances .Last Tuesday I had my
4th bladder surgery, and im finally starting to feel more myself,
though still very tired for the most part of recouped from the procedure. So this
entry will just be a quick personal update and then later this week I will
write another entry for you all.
I usually have these procedures done every 4-6
months, but because we were staying with friends for a couple of month’s I had
to put off from having it Sept of last year 2014 to March 2015. I usually get 1
to 2 months of relief after each procedure so that’s my hope is that I get
relief from this time around too. I usually have the hydrotension,
cystoscopy done, this time he also
dilated my bladder and urethra.
The procedure itself does not take that long,
usually between 25-40 minutes. Then im
in recovery until I can go the bathroom , it’s the recovery that’s tough
at times, I can be out of it anywhere
from 3 -7 days it all depends!
When I saw my uro the last time before this
procedure I asked him how many times can I keep having these done, and he said
until they no longer help ease my symptoms. We have talked about long-term treatments.
I’ve already gone through a lot of them, some only helped a tiny bit, others I can’t
have, which ill explain why.
1.Ive done medications,
but im allergic to a lot of the strong
meds.Iam on Cymblata, Tramadol, belladonna opium, and tizandine which is a
muscle relaxer.2. ive done injections
into my spine.3. instills hurt way too much, my bladder couldn’t handle
them.4.pelvic floor therapy, only helped tiny tiny bit, then my therapist said
she doesn’t feel I can get any more results form that after doing them for close to 2 years.5.
internal injections along with pelvic floor therapy, the injections did nothing for me, and now I have
internal scarring from them, every surgery ive had I get internal scarring severe adhesions.6.I cant have the interstim because
it will cause scarring and it helps more with urgency and frequency and my main
symptom even though I have both of those is my PAIN!
As you can see im
running out of options, every doctor ive had has told me this and ive seen some
of the best doctors in the field of IC in my state. It’s frustrating and disheartening
to face these facts. That’s why I have these procedures I do every couple of months.
Even a little bit of relief is something good, when you’re in pain 24/7.every
one of us is different, in what’s works, until there is a cure or better treatments,
we do what we have to do to keep going on a daily basis, so we can have some kind of normalcy in our lives.
All my LOVE and prayers my beautiful Warriors~
