A Little Excersise Can Go a Long Ways~
Good evening Family,
I hope you all are taking it moment by moment, I know you’re hurting and
feeling pressed down, I wish I could do so much more for all of you, but I hope
by reading my blog that it encourages you in some small way. If it does please
let me know by messaging me here or emailing me at NatalieMacangel@gmail.com
I just got back
from a nice relaxing walk around our neighborhood and into the downtown green area,
with hubby. Where we live makes it very easy to get to the center of town. it all started because there is a cute little
park right across the street from our building, so we started walking over
there after dinner, and since my husband is trying to lose the 38 pounds he
needs to lose before they will take him for the weight loss surgery, were encouraging
each other to walk and exercise. Tonight’s
topic is exactly that the importance of exercise and how do we accomplish this,
when were in so much pain.
Over the years I’ve walked at different times and stuck with it for short intervals, something always got in the way with me following through with it, it got too hard, so I gave in, I didn’t make the time and didn’t make staying healthy a priority. Now that my hubby is trying to get healthy, and get his blood pressure and other ailments under control, it inspired me to follow through with what I know I need to do. I need to be healthy for my hubby, I need to be strong for him and encourage him to walk, and we all know it’s so much easier to want to do exercising when we have someone to do it with, who motivates us.
Exercise is so
important of our overall health. its tough enough to want to get out and work
out and do excising, never mind when you’re in constant pain and overall have
trouble some days just getting out of bed. I understand, I know my IC and
fibromyalgia are both getting worse. This is not a lecture; this is just encouragement
for all of you struggling right now. Every day I deal with pain. a lot of days
are worse than others, but not every day am I in a full flare. Lately I have
really tried to push through when I can and do short walks, just to get out of
the house, out of the four walls and feel the sun on my face and the wind
through my hair.
Start off small, I won’t
tell you, how much you should do, I will encourage you to talk openly with your
doctors and tell them your desire to get healthy, but let them know how much
pain your in, maybe they can suggest a program geared to your needs. Start gradually,
even 15 minutes a day is going to make some small difference in how your body
feels, how your joints and pain levels are, small steps, small victories are
worth the outcome!
This week I did 6 ½ miles
throughout the week. If I had to take a day or two off, or do it every other
day I will. I am feeling the benefits and I know its having a positive outcome
for my overall health, not just physically, but mentally too! One small step,
is one small step in the right direction, reach for the stars, I know, and I believe
you can do it!
